For patients who are not able to become a candidate for LASIK yet still want a permanent solution for their vision, the Visian ICL might be the perfect solution. Patients might choose to get an ICL because they have thin corneas, dry eyes, or because their prescription is out of range. An ICL is a lens than you can implant into your eye. Dr. Cravey would make a tiny incision in the eye and insert the lens behind your iris and right before your natural lens. This is a permanent solution to having better vision, but unlike LASIK and PRK, ICLs can be removed or replaced at any time. This reversibility makes the ICL preferable for some patients.
